The Man Can Roll!

In front of me now there are THREE lists of things I need to get done in the next few weeks. Some things I need to get done in the next few days. The lists are long and very few things are currently crossed off. Work called twice today to get me to come in. But because the lovely function of Called ID, instead the phone set was addressed in a different manner.

I was going to use this stolen day to work on these massive lists. So far I've done zero things with any of them except add more items. Isn't that depressing? But all of that will have to wait just a bit longer because I have much more important news to convey to the three of you.

The Man's bowling team won their league championship Monday night!

That's right, they are the champions and they expect you to treat them thusly. This is the second time they have been league champions (but not consecutively). So those of you who think they are just out at the alleys guzzling beer and oogling floozies, you just better think again. (Actually beer is too expensive to drink at the bowling alley and the hotties must all bowl on a different night.)

The Man was not even going to be on the team this year because he was teaching at Bowling Green on Monday nights. It just wasn't going to work out. But with a little begging from his teammates, he found a way to make it to the alley to bowl in the last two games every night, missing the first game and the warm-up. Does he not deserve to be a champion for this sacrifice? I say he certainly does!

So congratulations to The Man and his team! Way to roll!

Oh! If only he had an Italian Charm bracelet, I could get him one of these!

Vacation Via Flu

Here I am, not going to work.

The call went out last night that my entire school will be closed for the next week because of Swine Flu. A nine year old boy went to Mexico over Spring Break and picked it up there. I don't know who this zombie could be and they certainly aren't giving his name. None of the zombies that I work with mentioned going to Mexico. And since you can't stop a zombie from telling you anything, whether you want to hear it or not, I would certainly have heard about it. The paper also says that this zombie was acting sick last week. But that's no help because during state testing week, everyone is acting sick.

Anyway if you happened to stop by my house last week and I was kissing all over your baby and getting her belly, please don't worry. This flu is passed person to person (which is why they are taking a week to scrub desks and chairs?) and I don't believe I had any personal contact with this poor sick zombie. Same goes if you went to overpriced dinner with me that involved a teary ceremony or were trapped in a van with me headed out to enjoy the stars. Where else did I go last week? Umm. Everywhere in town pretty much! When you start to track yourself and think about all the places you went and people that you saw, you get a fast picture of how an epidemic spreads.

When I went to find pictures and found that seriously weird image up in the corner, this one also came up in the search. I don't believe sweet Porky is guilty of spreading any Swine Flu, but that he came up in the search does make me a little suspicious. Maybe he vacationed in Mexico too.

Next step for me? Back to bed I guess!

Update! I just got called in to go to another school for the afternoon! Drag!

Flight of the Conchords

How do you end Spring Break? By going to a concert on a Sunday night!

The Man and I left the kiddos at home and headed out to Kent State to see Flight of the Conchords. And while it was a fantastic show, Kent State's MACC Center is far from an ideal place to see a show. We had to sit on bleachers. Bleachers. Our tickets had a seat number on it, but when we got to the door they were telling people just to fill in anywhere. Not cool.

I don't know if the place was sold out, but it looked it. Two super fans came dressed as robots and sat in the second row on the floor. The Bret and Jermaine didn't seem surprised at all at having robots at their show. It must be a common occurrence.

Kristen Schaal, who plays Mel on the show, did a stand-up routine for the opening. The one bit she did with a pot, lid and spoon was a killer. Her whole act was terrific.

The guys performed every song I hoped they would except "Business Time". They only did one number that we weren't familiar with already and that was about a bus tour guide. It was an amazing song.

I thought for sure I would be dragging today since we stayed up late and then had to drive home. If we had stayed to get t-shirts after the show we would have been there another half an hour easily. Luckily, none of the shirts had that "I've got to have it" look to them.

I'll finish up here with this shot. I didn't take it, but it's exactly what the guys looked like last night.

Marco is Five Today

This is the last birthday post for awhile. I promise.

Happy Birthday to Marco!

We don't know the actually date of his birthday, but he was ten weeks old when we brought him, so we picked the eleventh as close enough. So today he is five years old.

And here's the baby pictures!

What is he getting for his birthday? A walk later and maybe a car ride!

Happy Birthday to The Brother

Yesterday, (sorry for being a day late!) my baby brother turned 18. This guy is leaving High School in a big way with a full ride to LCCC in his pocket. I told him that now that he was 18 he could buy his own lottery tickets, but that didn't seem too excited about that. But really what else is being 18 good for besides lotto tickets, cigarettes and Selective Service? The years between 18 and 21 are like adult limbo.

Anyway, true to my form, here's the baby pictures!

He was the worlds cutest newborn. No contest there.
You say you like vintage Man pictures? Here he is when he was just my boyfriend hanging out with the baby.

It's the classic Use-The-Baby-As-A-Shield maneuver. Check out those cute shoes!

Finally, one of my favorites. The Brother and Stella hunt for prey.

Happy Birthday, babe! I hope your day was a wonderful one!

The 14th Birthday Spectacular!

Happy Birthday to The Girl and The Boy!

If you'll recall back when they turned 13, I presented a few newborn pictures. Since they are a year older now, let's go a year older back then. Presenting The Girl and Boy right around their first birthday...

Same cute kids in almost the same part of the yard. Same crappy grass.

Back when we had a garage and quite a bit more bushes.

There are no words for cheeks this kissable.

Check out Stella back there snoozing away!

Oh, it's just too much. And by too much, I mean the toys.

And just like that, they're 14.
